Paithra places outbound sales calls in eleven Indian languages on behalf of the businesses that use it, and this policy explains what it collects from a caller and a called lead, why, for how long, and how either can ask for it to be corrected or deleted under India's DPDP Act 2023.

This page is a starting draft, written to match how Paithra actually operates. It is not legal advice, and a lawyer should review it before it governs a live account.

Who this policy covers

Paithra is a product of Pruning Labs, headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Registered address: [TODO: registered address]. Corporate Identification Number (CIN): [TODO: CIN].

What Paithra collects

From the business using Paithra (the “tenant”): account and billing details, the lead lists it uploads or connects, the call scripts and caller IDs it configures, and payment records processed through Razorpay.

From a lead the tenant asks Paithra to call: the phone number supplied by the tenant, the audio recording and transcript of the call, and the buying-intent verdict the agent writes back (for example, hot, cold, or a booked appointment).

Paithra does not buy, scrape or independently source phone numbers. Every number dialled is supplied by a tenant, who is responsible for having a lawful basis to share it with us.

Why we process it, under the DPDP Act 2023

Paithra processes a tenant’s account data under contract, to provide the service they signed up for.

Paithra processes a lead’s data on the consent basis the tenant is contractually required to hold before uploading that number — the tenant, not Paithra, is the data fiduciary responsible for having obtained that consent. Paithra additionally will not dial a number that is not clear on the DND registry, regardless of what the tenant asserts, as described below.

How a call is placed responsibly

Calls run only between 09:00 and 21:00 IST, the window set by TRAI’s Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR). A tenant can narrow this window; the platform will not widen it, in either direction, for any account.

Every number is checked against the DND registry before dialling, from a caller ID that is DLT-registered to the tenant placing the call. The agent discloses that the call is an automated voice agent and that the call is being recorded.

Who processes data on Paithra's behalf

Paithra runs on named subprocessors, each under its own data-processing terms, and none is permitted to use call data for a purpose other than running the call:

  • Clerk — authentication and session management for the tenant dashboard.
  • LiveKit — the telephony and real-time media leg the call runs over.
  • Deepgram and ElevenLabs Scribe — speech-to-text transcription.
  • Google (Gemini) — the language model that decides what the agent says.
  • ElevenLabs and Cartesia — text-to-speech synthesis of the agent’s voice.
  • Razorpay — payment processing for credits and subscriptions.
  • Cloudflare (D1 and R2) — the database and storage the platform runs on.

How long we keep it

Recordings, transcripts and lead records are kept for as long as the tenant’s account is active, and are exportable by the tenant at any time. On account closure, tenant and lead data is deleted within 90 days, except where a shorter erasure request is made sooner, or where a longer period is required to meet a tax, billing or dispute-resolution obligation.

Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

If Paithra has your data, as a tenant or as someone a tenant asked us to call, you can ask to: access what is held about you, correct it, have it erased, withdraw consent for future processing, and nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.

Send that request to the grievance contact below. We will confirm receipt and act on it, or explain why we cannot, within the timelines the DPDP Act 2023 sets out.

Calls that reach a minor

Some tenants (for example, coaching and education businesses) call a parent or guardian about a minor’s enrolment. Paithra does not knowingly collect data directly from a minor, and expects the tenant to be calling the parent or guardian of record, not the minor themself.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change, and active tenants will be notified by email.

Questions

Privacy, asked plainly.

Does Paithra record my calls?

Yes. Every call an agent places is recorded and transcribed so the business that owns the account can review it, and so Paithra can prove the compliance controls below were followed. The recording is disclosed on the call itself, not hidden.

Can I ask Paithra to delete my data?

Yes. Under the DPDP Act 2023 you can ask the business that had Paithra call you, or Paithra directly, to erase your call recording, transcript and contact details, and we will action it unless we are required to keep a record for a legal or regulatory reason.

Who else sees my call data?

The tenant business that uploaded your number, and the infrastructure providers listed below that carry or store the call (LiveKit, Deepgram, Google, ElevenLabs, Cartesia, Cloudflare). None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
