What a second of AI voice calling costs in India

Shubham Choudhary, Co-founder & Head of Growth, Pruning Labs

Paithra sells calling time in credits, where one credit is one second of conversation, on a tiered per-minute rate that falls as monthly volume rises: ₹7.00 a minute under 500 minutes, down to ₹5.50 a minute above 2,500. Every account starts with 900 free credits, about 15 minutes of live calling, before spending anything.

Why the unit is a second, not a call

A call that lasts 40 seconds and one that lasts four minutes cost different amounts to run — the text-to-speech and language-model calls scale with how long the agent talks, not with how many calls happen. Pricing per second (a credit) rather than per call means the price always tracks the actual conversation, and a short qualifying call never subsidises a long one.

The actual tiered rate

The per-minute rate falls in four tiers as monthly volume rises, applied to the whole month’s usage once a tier is reached, not just the minutes above the threshold:

  • Under 500 minutes: ₹7.00 per minute
  • 500+ minutes: ₹6.50 per minute
  • 1,000+ minutes: ₹6.00 per minute
  • 2,500+ minutes: ₹5.50 per minute

As one-time packs at today’s rate:

  • Starter Pack: 100 minutes (6,000 credits) for ₹700, ₹7.00/minute
  • Growth Pack: 500 minutes (30,000 credits) for ₹3,250, ₹6.50/minute
  • Scale Pack: 1,000 minutes (60,000 credits) for ₹6,000, ₹6.00/minute
  • High Volume: 2,500 minutes (1,50,000 credits) for ₹13,750, ₹5.50/minute

Or a monthly plan, priced for the desk, not the minute

  • Starter: ₹9,999/month, 84,000 credits included, 2 agents
  • Growth: ₹19,999/month, 1,80,000 credits included, 5 agents
  • Scale: ₹49,999/month, 5,40,000 credits included, 15+ agents
